A rescue training dummy—also called a rescue manikin—is a life-like, flexible dummy that firefighters use to conduct search and rescue drills, extrication exercises and more.
Each LION SmartDummy comes with a built in VoiceBox that can call out for help, adding another level of realism to your firefighter training. You can even record custom messages for continuous or sound-activated playback. And our rescue dummies are made of heavy-duty canvas and crush-resistant materials to allow for years of training.
SmartDummy Thermal manikins use embedded heat emitters to accurately recreate a person’s thermal signature. This lets firefighters train on thermal imaging cameras (TIC) in smoke-filled and darkened environments.
Rescue dummies are weighted to feel like a real person and are used for authentic carries and drags. They replace traditional stand-in training, where a firefighter plays the role of victim. When you use a manikin, nobody on your team has to sit out a session.
The SmartDummy Rescue is our base model. It provides authentic victim handling training in carries and drags. The Extrication model has removable limbs and torso impalement to simulate serious injuries. Our Thermal model generates realistic, detectable body heat for training with thermal imaging cameras (TIC).
