V-Force®

Feature

V-Force by LION is different than other firefighter turnout gear because of its unique cut and design.

V-Force® EVO®

Built to protect under fire & move with you.

V-Force EVO is LION’s new, premium structural turnout gear for firefighters who spend real time inside the job. Designed for interior attack, overhaul, training, and long-duration incidents, V-Force EVO delivers full NFPA-compliant protection while reducing the fatigue, restriction, and bulk that wear firefighters down over time.

This turnout gear moves naturally with the body, remains balanced under load, and keeps bulk from getting in the way so firefighters can focus on the work, not the gear.

Built for Fireground Movement

Fireground movement is repetitive, loaded, and often awkward. V-Force EVO turnout gear is designed around how firefighters actually move during structural firefighting operations. The gear moves when the firefighter moves and settles back when they don’t, conserving energy when it matters most.

  • Overhead Reach

An extended bi-swing back opens fully when arms go overhead or forward, helping firefighters reach without the coat pulling out of position. The arm design also helps here by separating arm movement from the torso, so reach feels more natural and unrestricted.

  • Crawling and Low-Profile Movement

A high/low coat hem reduces front bulk when crawling or kneeling, maintains back coverage, and improves access to pant pockets, tools, and harnesses while minimizing pressure from SCBA waist belts.

EVO_Feature_02
  • Ladder Operations

The coat stays centered on the torso during climbs, reducing ride ride-up and shoulder pull while maintaining a clean interface with the pants.

  • Extended Time On Air

Mobility remains consistent as fatigue sets in, reducing the constant fight against stiff or shifting turnout gear.

Smart Design Details Firefighters Appreciate

Retractable throat collar

Provides full neck and throat protection when needed and stows cleanly without bulk or constant pressure.

intro_1

Extended, retractable boot cuff

Opens wide for fast donning, allowing firefighters to step into pants easily, even with bulky boots. It also supports doffing and staging gear when you need to get in and out efficiently.

High/low coat hem

Shorter front hem reduces bunching during movement

Extended rear hem maintains lower-back coverage when leaning or kneeling

Reduced interference with SCBA belts and harnesses and pant pockets

Asset 6

180-degree coat pleat

Supports full shoulder and upper-torso range of motion while keeping the coat centered on the body.

Asset 6-2

Offset shoulder seams

Move critical seams away from SCBA contact points to reduce pressure and wear.

Comfort Without Compromising Protection

Comfort in firefighter turnout gear isn’t about softness. It’s about managing weight, heat, and restriction over long periods.

V-Force EVO uses a vest-like core that distributes load across the torso instead of pulling from the shoulders. This improves balance under SCBA weight and reduces fatigue during extended interior operations.

Firefighters experience:

  • Less binding during bending, reaching, and overhead work
  • Reduced pressure at the neck, waist, and hips
  • Improved airflow and moisture management during sustained operations
  • Easier movement late in the incident when fatigue is highest

Protection remains consistent while the gear works with the body instead of against it.

Protection You Can Trust

V-Force EVO structural turnout gear is built without shortcuts.

  • Designed and tested to meet applicable NFPA standards for structural firefighting turnout gear
  • Layered construction engineered for thermal protection, moisture management, and durability
  • Coverage maintained during real movement, not just while standing still

The design intent is simple: firefighter protection that stays in place during bending, crawling, reaching, and working under load.

Field-Driven Fit

Firefighters don’t work standing still, and turnout gear shouldn’t be designed that way.

V-Force EVO is built to fit real body types, real layers, and real movement patterns. The system stays balanced front to back, maintains predictable mobility, and delivers consistent fit across sizes and configurations.

Departments benefit from:

  • Reliable coverage in any position or posture
  • Consistent fit across the fleet
  • Less need for mid-incident readjustment

When turnout gear fits correctly, firefighters move with confidence instead of compensation.

Built for Long-Term Service

Turnout gear is a long-term investment. V-Force EVO is designed for years of real use.

  • Reinforced high-wear zones
  • Construction focused on seam strength and repeated movement
  • Materials selected to retain shape, protection, and performance over time

It’s built for daily training, extended incidents, and the wear that comes with real service, not showroom conditions.

More From LION

"Why LION? I have interacted with firefighter survival equipment manufacturers for over four decades, but I haven't met any that come close to LION with their sincere and proven interest in understanding (aka LISTENING) to what we, firefighters, genuinely need. Their endless pursuit to listen to the "voices of firefighters" and then utilizing the latest proven firefighting research results in bunker gear that supports us in best taking care of those who need us, as well as each other. From their demonstrated commitment in providing us with what we genuinely need to do the job, to their full and hands on involvement (in research and fiscal support) with the battle to reduce firefighter cancer, LION isn't just words- they are proven action with impressive results."

Billy Goldfeder | Deputy Fire Chief Loveland-Symmes Fire Department

"Recently, the Baton Rouge Fire Department accepted delivery of the ITS Xtreme fire extinguisher training prop and we have hit the ground running. We have trained over 200 people in the proper use of a fire extinguisher in approximately 6 weeks. This new technology is leaps and bounds better and more efficient than the old training method of the burn pan and carbon dioxide extinguishers. We are able to take full advantage of the ability to recharge the extinguishers onsite, thereby allowing us to reach more people effectively. This unit is exponentially easier to setup, use and maintain than previous methods."

Clint L. Sanchez | Baton Rouge Fire Department

"When you combine ease of use, quick set up and tear down time, actual training time, and SAFETY of this training system, there is nothing out there comparable."

George Ostrom | Safety Asst, AMRI Global

"The customer service has been awesome! I did have a problem with one of the fire extinguishers when it was first delivered. I made one phone call and spoke with a technician who immediately sent out a brand new extinguisher. They have contacted me often to make sure that I was completely satisfied and wasn’t having any further problems. It’s not too often that you can not only get a great product, but also great service. I would highly recommend it to others."

Denita Lynch | High Point Fire Department

"I have trained about 125 employees for one company, with great success. The system is very easy to set up, as well as to operate."

Pat Patterson | President LAAP, Inc.

"Thanks to [LION], we have directly cut over $1,000 annually from our contracted fire training and since we have been able to easily train staff, the system has paid for itself; given the cost of contracting out this training to the number of staff we trained ourselves."

Dylan Hayes | Disaster Response Manager, Seattle Children’s Hospital
