Intelligent Training System (I.T.S.)
Make live fire extinguisher training possible with a safe, clean, and effective complete training system. It's easy to use, clean, and train with.
Provide live-fire extinguisher training with LION’s Intelligent Training System (I.T.S.). The system uses propane-based flames, high-tech sensors and rechargeable air-water extinguishers to create safe and realistic training sessions for everyday citizens.
This fire extinguisher training system lets users work on real flames to reinforce proper techniques and decision-making. It provides a tactile, hands-on experience—under full instructor control—that lets people safely engage with a real fire.
The I.T.S. can complement fully digital systems by validating extinguisher skills in a controlled and safe environment.
Train in Minutes
The system comes with everything you need for training. And the unit’s compact design makes it easy for one person to set up and break down.
Lower Your Costs
The I.T.S. is extremely cost-effective. The money you save with the system can help you can train as many people as needed, as often as you like.
Challenge Trainees
Instructors can select Class A, B or C fires at four different difficulty levels—giving you plenty of options to test your team on real flames.
Reduce Cleanup Time
The I.T.S. uses propane gas instead of a diesel burn pan, and the rechargeable air-water extinguishers don’t leave behind any messy chemicals.
With its propane flames and air-water extinguishers, the I.T.S. provides safe live-fire training—plus a controller that lets you track performance.
The Intelligent Training System uses patented sensors to detect how well someone is using the air-water SmartExtinguisher®. The sensors can determine if the trainee is aiming at the base of the fire and sweeping the nozzle across the flames.
The SmartExtinguishers can be filled quickly in the field with water and compressed air. And because there’s no need to discharge and recharge costly dry-chemical or CO2 extinguishers, the I.T.S. can save you money in the long run.
A display shows the time it takes to extinguish the fire, allowing you to immediately track every trainee’s performance. The controller’s flare-up button can be used to instantly reignite the flames at any point to further challenge trainees.
The Intelligent Training System is made with industrial-grade stainless steel to withstand years of intense live-fire training.
Flames grow gradually and increase in intensity from the trash can prop, just as they would in a real Class A fire. While maintaining a safe distance, trainees must aim and use the SmartExtinguisher properly to put out the flames.
Flames erupt from the pan as well as the burner surface to mimic a Class B stove top fire. Trainees must maintain a safe distance and apply the SmartExtinguisher to the pot and burner to successfully extinguish the fire.
Flames grow to engulf the shelves and paint cans in this Class B fire prop. Trainees must aim and sweep the SmartExtinguisher across the entire prop—but also focus on the lower shelf where the flames are the most intense.
Fire initially sparks within the motor casing before extending beyond the appliance, simulating a Class C electrically charged motor fire. Trainees must aim and sweep, coating the entire device to successfully extinguish the fire.
The Intelligent Training System (I.T.S.) utilizes patented sensor technology to detect how well a trainee uses a SmartExtinguisher® training extinguisher.
I.T.S. can sense if the user has aimed at the base of the fire and is properly sweeping the nozzle of the extinguisher.
A trainer’s handheld controller selects the class of fire to demonstrate (A, B or C) as well as one of four difficulty levels.
The flare-up button can be used to instantly reignite the flames at any point to further challenge trainees.
The SmartExtinguishers are available in 5x (five discharges) and 7x (seven discharges) sizes, with a pressure gauge and Schrader recharge valve.
Easily transport your I.T.S. to and from training sites with this wheeled, high-impact case.
Our foam-lined case can handle two extinguishers, in any combination of 5x and 7x sizes.
Recharge your extinguishers from an SCBA tank (2216 or 4500 PSI) with this high-pressure regulator assembly, which includes brass fittings and a coiled air hose.
This six-gallon air compressor, with a maximum of 150 PSI, ships with a premium air hose and brass fitting kit.
A fire extinguisher training system teaches proper extinguisher use through hands-on or simulated fire scenarios. Systems like I.T.S. use live flames and sensors to provide realistic training experiences.
Yes. Propane-based fire training systems are designed with built-in safety controls, allowing instructors to start, stop and
Most organizations conduct fire extinguisher training annually, though frequency may vary based on regulatory requirements, industry standards and organizational risk levels.
Live-fire extinguisher training uses controlled fuel sources, such as propane, to create real flames. Trainees use extinguishers to suppress the fire while instructors monitor technique, effectiveness and safety.
Fire extinguisher training systems can simulate Class A (ordinary combustibles), Class B (flammable liquids), Class C (electrical) and kitchen-related fires, depending on the training props used.
